About Us
··············
Hi,
my name is Barbi and I am glad you are visiting. I created
CuteFamilyPets.com out of a desire to spread pet love on the Internet and to
show off our family pets. We are going into our 6th year online and it
has been a joy meeting so many beautiful fur-kids. The pet community is
"inactive" at this moment except for a post or two from members now and
then. You see for the first 2 1/2 years, it averaged 1000 new posts
per month, and I sincerely could not keep up with it. Members meet
there from time to time, but we no longer chat on a regular basis. The
forum got to be pretty addicting and took a life of its own, but one could
say "life took over." I still feature submitted photos now and then
(but not on a routine established basis as I did the first 2 years), so feel
free to email me a photo.

Here's a little bit from one
of our fur-kids, Buffy
(I'm sorry to announce that Buffy passed
away today, 6/19/06, from intestinal bleeding. She is the main reason
I created CFP and our hearts are truly broken. We love you and will
miss you Buffy -- forever and ever. Our only comfort is knowing that
you had a life full of love and pampering. You were Maggie and
Marvin's tiny baby and it will so hard to get over your loss. You
leave behind thousands of photos commencing with your birth and millions of
memories that will never be forgotten. Please say a prayer that Maggie
and Marvin will find some peace and comfort in their lives as they are
horrendously heartbroken).
R.I.P. Buffy -- we'll always miss you!! Always, always!!

Hello
everyone, my
name is Buffy and I am a Long-Hair Chihuahua. I'm so
glad you are visiting. I was born on February 9, 2001 and, as of 1/1/04, I am 3 lbs.
5 ounces (I
do watch my figure you know). I am still very, very tiny (which
is good because Mommy says good things come in tiny packages).
They tell me I was a cutie from birth and very, very much desired.
A family member owns my Mommy, so when she was pregnant everybody
knew I was on the way. I recall the first day I
opened my eyes and saw my human Mom and Dad -- I was so excited! It
was wonderful to see and feel their human touch. |
|
Sometimes I read on internet sites where
they say that Chihuahua's do not like children and I wonder why they say
that: I luv children! I am outgoing and friendly. They also state
that Chihuahua's are snappy --
but I'm not snappy. I get along with everybody, even other
pets. Mommy made sure she took me everywhere when I was a puppy, so
now I know I can trust others. I'm not a yapper, but if a
stranger comes near Mom and Dad, I will yap my head off until Dad tells me "It's ok"
- it's just that I'm protecting my love one...even my fur cousins do that
with their family. Some people have quite a few misconceptions about
us Chihuahuas, but one thing is true: we are fearless. I have no fear
standing up to a huge dog in order to protect my family
and friends, but Mommy says we need to work on that.
I love to be groomed and Mommy usually completes the joyous task in about
10-15 minutes in the bathroom sink. She then blow-dries my hair until
it's nice and fluffy and smells soooooo pretty. Every time a person hugs
they state the same comment: "Oh Buffy, you smell so pretty!!"
Having my ears cleaned is another story {{sheesh....I hate it!!}} but for
the most part, I'll sit still long enough for them to get it over with.
Getting my nails cut is another task I hate. I start fidgeting too
much, which is why Mommy prefers for the nice lady at the grooming place to do
this horrible task.
If you have any questions, you can usually find me at our
pet community.
Mommy asks that you please check here and there for new pictures as well,
since she'll post different ones at random times. I'm glad you're
here visiting and hope you become a member of CFP.

Thank you for the
memories Buffy.... because of you, I created this website.

Our buddy
Angus passed away and in his honor we will continue to show this beautiful
movie made by his owners, Anna and Mark, when he turned 12 years
old! Grandma Barbi says it hits right on the nail the feelings and meaning behind CFP:
to show the love humans have for
us fur-kids. The movie size is a bit large (1,781 kb)
BUT VERY MUCH WORTH THE VIEWING -- there's a lot of love there!. Turn
up your speakers, sit back, and enjoy.

Angus...
we will always love you as you hold a special place in our hearts.
The Rainbow Bridge is brighter with you at its side. Until we meet
again someday.
We love you Big Boy!!
|
Anna and Mark, a
huge thank you for sharing this special video of Angus with all of
us. On more than one occasion, CFP has received a viewer's
e-mail stating how it made them cry. Tears of joy at seeing so much
love! |
